Interest in the Borussia Dortmund star actually dates back to Jose Mourinho’s time in charge, with the Portuguese hoping to sign the 21-year-old when he was strutting his stuff across town at Manchester City.

They ultimately missed out to Dortmund in 2017, with Sancho swayed into moving to Germany by the guarantee of regular football at the Westfalenstadion.

But United, after failing to land the England international last summer and in 2019, are ready to go again.

The Daily Mail say, however, that Solskjaer has told the Glazers he thinks Martial has a big role to play at the club next season.

It’s claimed he’s told his bosses that the France international, alongside Sancho, Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani, is good enough to propel his side to title glory next term.

But what Martial will United get?
