Married At First Sight expert John Aiken dispenses harsh advice for dealing with nosy neighbours… leaving his fellow panellists stunned

He’s best known for doling out relationship advice to the couples on Married At First Sight.

But John Aiken, 50, dispensed his typically blunt wisdom to a reader dealing with a nosy neighbour on his regular Talking Honey panel on Wednesday.

The advice in question was so stern that even his fellow panellists gasped when he delivered it.

A reader named Sue had written in with a particular problem: she had a nosy neighbour telling her how to raise her kids and ‘always complaining about noise’.

John was first to give his take on the situation, saying: ‘I would take on the approach of “I’m going to do whatever I like, I’m going to ignore their advice, and I am going to keep the music on late.”

‘Because that’s the way I’m going to run things. And if they don’t like it, bad luck.’

The advice was met with gasps from his fellow panelists Jane De Graaff, Jo Abi and moderator Shelly Horton.

Later, the reality star doubled down on his statement, saying: ‘I think we’ve all had bad neighbours at times and you know how difficult it is for them to get to change.

‘If we’re the ones people are complaining about, I would just say: “Suck it up, because that’s who we are.”‘

‘I was not expecting that advice from you,’ admitted Shelly.

The former professional cricket player is known for his brusque nature on MAFS, at one point even calling out groom James Susler for ‘gaslighting’ his wife Jo Todd.
