The driver was rushed to hospital after two HGV drivers smashed into one another on the M8 motorway.
Police and emergency crews had been called to the incident at Junctions 26 and 27 of the Westbound carriageway near Renfrew at midday this afternoon.
Motorists on the M8 have since faced lengthy queues following the incident.
Traffic Scotland reported that three lanes were closed following the incident on the M8 motorway.
