Luxe Listings Sydney star D’Leanne Lewis says she ‘had to work three times as hard’ to succeed the male-dominated real estate industry
Amazon Prime’s new series Luxe Listings Sydney follows the lives of three elite real estate agents selling the most expensive homes in the Harbour City.
And one of the show’s stars, D’Leanne Lewis, has revealed that being a woman in a male-dominated industry meant she had to work ‘three times as hard’ to success.
In a preview for the upcoming show, D’Leanne revealed she was once told she could never work in top-tier real estate because she was a woman and ‘too young’.
‘I’ve had to work three times as hard’: Elite real estate D’Leanne Lewis recalled her experience of rising through the ranks in male dominated industry in a preview for Amazon Prime’s new series Luxe Listings Sydney
‘I thought, “Well, that’s bulls**y”, and now I am number one in my company and I’ve been number one for the last 18 years,’ she proudly said.
The mother of two, who drives a luxury Range Rover, added: ‘I’ve had to work twice, three times as hard to show that I’m absolutely capable.
‘[Managers] were like, “No girls are going to do real estate; you’re too young.” It was so misogynistic. It was crazy.’
D’Leanne also said there were ‘plenty of egos’ in real estate – and the trailer hints at her personality clashes with co-stars Gavin Rubinstein and Simon Cohen.

‘You can have the confidence of 100 men, but if you don’t have the results it counts for nothing,’ she said.
‘I have been called a Rottweiler in heels, but I don’t think I’m a pooch. I’m certainly not a Rottweiler,’ she laughed.
