Prime Video anticipated the series would air for five seasons as part of a deal with the Tolkien Estate.
This number is yet to be officially confirmed, as it all depends on the viewership ratings as the series progresses.
In November 2021, Amazon officially ordered a second season and fans are excited for the story to continue.
Executive producer Lindsey Weber said according to Deadline: “Season two is fundamentally different in that our main villain is out and about, and doing his thing.
“I think in some ways, it’s going to grittier, more intense, maybe a little scarier.”
