    Naby Keita

Keita is yet to make a single appearance for Liverpool this season since picking up a long-term thigh injury after making a brief cameo in the Community Shield victory over Manchester City in the FA Community Shield back in July.

The Guinean’s prolonged absence has caused issues for Klopp in midfield and the 27-year-old is still not back after missing out international duty. He is not expected to be back for the game at Arsenal, with Klopp pitching his return for somewhere later in October.

Klopp said on September 12: “No, I don’t expect him [Keita] to go on international duty. The expected return date is somewhere in October, that’s why we had to make the decision. With Ox it is the same and that’s why the two boys are not in the Champions League squad because of their expected return.”

    Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

A player who has been dogged by injuries over the years, the former England international suffered a serious hamstring injury in pre-season back in July during a friendly against Crystal Palace.

The 28-year-old has not been seen since out on the training pitch as he continues his recovery from another muscle-related setback. And Klopp has been forced to get on without the attacking midfielder, leaving him out of the Champions League squad in August.

“With Oxlade it will take longer. It’s a serious hamstring injury and it will take longer,” said Klopp. “But it’s a hamstring, and we all hate this word, we hate the injury but anyway it happens from time to time and now Ox was the one.”
