According to the UK trade association for the LPG industry, UKLPG, there are 1,400 LPG refuelling stations across the country compared to around 8,500 filling stations overall.
A number of the big fuel station chains sometimes provide LPG, including Shell, BP and Esso, as do supermarket petrol stations, notably some Morrisons and Sainsbury’s stations.
It can also be more difficult to sell the car once it has been converted, with few drivers choosing an LPG vehicle specifically.
People will also have to factor in getting the vehicle serviced which should be done every 12 months or 12,000 miles.
