Lady Louise, the daughter of Prince Edward and Sophie, turns 18 on November 8. When she reaches the milestone, she will be able to decide if she wants to use an HRH title.
Edward and Sophie’s son James, Viscount Severn, 13, will have the same choice when he celebrates his 18th birthday.
Speaking in 2020, the Countess of Wessex told the Sunday Times: “We try to bring them up with the understanding they are very likely to have to work for a living.
“Hence we made the decision not to use HRH titles.
“They have them and can decide to use them from 18, but I think it’s highly unlikely.”
Lady Louise and James are said to be favourites of Her Majesty due to the pair enjoying their holidays at Balmoral Castle, where the monarch traditionally spends her summer.
A source previously told the Sun: “The Queen loves the fact that Louise and James relish their time at Balmoral, and she has become particularly close to Louise, who seems to have become her favourite grandchild, closely followed by James.”
The Wessexes are likely to join the Queen at Balmoral this year.
It is the Queen’s first summer holiday at her private Scottish retreat without her beloved husband Prince Philip.
The 95-year-old was officially welcomed to Balmoral last month by a guard of honour featuring a Shetland pony mascot.
Scotland has been a welcome place of sanctuary for the Royal Family since the days of Queen Victoria as they country pursuits in the Highlands.
