Criticism: ‘I feel bad saying this, but her accent is not exactly an Italian accent, it sounds more Russian,’ House Of Gucci’s dialogue coach Francesca De Martini said of Gaga
Though fans are excited for the movie — which hits theatres November 24 — she has already faced criticism for the accent she used while trying to nail the part of Patrizia Reggiani.
The film’s dialogue coach Francesca De Martini told The Daily Beast that if anything she sounded more Russian than Italian.
‘I feel bad saying this, but her accent is not exactly an Italian accent, it sounds more Russian,’ she confessed.
De Martini had auditioned for a few parts in the Ridley Scott film but was rejected, however she was called back to help assist Gaga’s co-star, Salma Hayek with her accent.

Gaga had opened up about her method acting style approach to playing Reggiani — the notorious woman who hired a hitman to murder her ex-husband Maurizio Gucci in 1995.
‘I lived as her [Reggiani] for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that.I never broke. I stayed with her,’ she told British Vogue, adding that she spoke as her even off camera.
