One audience member felt losing the constituency would be disastrous for the Labour party.
She said: “I think if Labour can’t hold this seat with this particular candidate that’s standing, then I don’t know about the final nail in the coffin, but certainly it’s a hard nail in the coffin.
“It’s going to be a really uphill struggle for the party to rally back.
“I know Party’s have peaks and troughs and come and go, but I think it’s going to be really going to be hard this time, especially coming so soon on the back of the loss in Hartlepool.”
Labour suffered a humiliating defeat to the Tories in Hartlepool eight weeks ago with the Conservative candidate, Jill Mortimer, winning the seat with 51.9 percent of the vote.
Sir Keir Starmer is under mounting pressure to win back support in the Red Wall constituencies.
Labour have held the Batley and Spen seat since 1997.
When asked why she thought Labour would do so badly, the BBC QT guest said: “I think if Labour hold the seat it will purely be because of the local personality of the candidates.

Andy Burnham, mayor of Great Manchester, completely rejected the idea.
Mr Burnham replied: “No, absolutely not.
“The constituency is not what you might typically call a red wall seat where there’s been a Labour majority forever.
“This is a seat which is more marginal and always has been.
“It would be serious. This is a real challenge not only for Keir Starmer and the Labour party but for the Left more broadly.”
