Morning Live presenter Kym opened up on a backstage “meltdown” she had before last Saturday’s live BBC show while talking to former Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara on spin-off series, It Takes Two. The former Coronation Street actress reflected on difficulties she had faced in training, which made her determined to get back to the ballroom and “have fun”.

Kym and partner Graziano Di Prima joined Janette on the It Takes Two sofa on Thursday to discuss how their dance experience is going so far and how it felt to have been in the dreaded dance-off.

Former Strictly professional Janette remarked: “So we need to talk about this. That Quickstep was quick!

“I mean, have you recovered from the speed of that?” Saturday saw the duo taking on a speedy routine to mark the BBC’s 100th anniversary.

Laughing, Kym replied: “Just about, yeah! It was fast, wasn’t it? I said, ‘Turns out the Quickstep’s quick!'”

“But Graziano gave me the biggest squeeze, which I didn’t really appreciate because I’ve got a rib injury still, so.”

“You hurt her out of joy!” Janette exclaimed, to which the Italian choreographer admitted: “Yeah, in that moment I didn’t realise, but if I think now, I hear ‘ow, ow.'”

Opening up on her busy schedule and how it sometimes causes her to lose confidence in herself, Kym later told Janette: “sometimes it’s hard because there’s a lot going on in my life, there’s a lot of things.

“There’s Waterloo Road, there’s Morning Live, there’s my family – there’s a lot of things going on and then you have to take on board learning dances and travelling and everything else.
