The 20-year-old, whose hit song Supalonley quickly rose up the charts around the world this year, was in her element on stage as she sang to a crowd of 6,000 at the Spark Arena.

Aside from performing her viral hit song, Benee, whose real name is Stella Bennett, also sang Tough Guy, Soaked and Snail.

She dressed in an eclectic outfit – a maroon and black vest with a white T-shirt, wide leg trousers with a quirky eye print and chunky sneakers.

The raven-haired singer changed up her look with different accessories including a cat ears and angel wings.

At one point, she reached out to the concert-goers who had their phones out to capture a moment of the concert – likely their first live music event in a while.

Last week, Benee said she’s ‘incredibly lucky’ she can go back on stage amid the global coronavirus pandemic.

‘Musicians from all over the place are missing the live connection with their supporters right now so I feel incredibly lucky to be able to get back on stage,’ she said in a statement on Triple J.

‘I’m so excited that we’re streaming the Auckland show, it means we can bring my fans from all over into the room with us.’

Benee’s concert was possible after Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern declared New Zealand ‘beat the virus again’ earlier this month.

Prime Minister Ardern also announced that Auckland’s restriction would be eased down to level one restrictions, after a second Covid-19 wave in August was contained.

Benee’s global hit song Supalonley has so far racked up more than 154 million YouTube views.

While in lockdown in New Zealand, she has appeared on top US programs such as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Ellen.

In July, she told news.com.au that her high-profile interviews and television appearances were all done from her bedroom.

‘I haven’t had to go anywhere. You realise you don’t have to fly to the States one day and London the next, you can do it from your bedroom on your computer.’

‘I’d Zoom every day and I had my pyjama pants on, I was quite happy,’ Benee admitted.

She also spoke told the publication about how Supalonley has evolved for audiences while in lockdown.

‘The song was originally written about my break up, but it’s not that now for a lot of people, it’s about isolation,’ she said.
