The royals will hold a number of public engagements in Bradford, Leeds, York and Doncaster next week on a two-day visit on November 8 and 9. King Charles will honour the legacy of Queen Elizabeth while on the visit as he will visit a memorial and unveil a statue dedicated to Her Majesty, as well as grant a town official city status which was chosen by the late monarch during the Jubilee celebrations earlier this year.
The visit will begin the visit with a trip to the headquarters of the supermarket chain Morrison in Bradford, which first began as an egg and butter stall in the area in 1899.
King Charles and Queen Camilla will meet with employees from Morrison’s and learn how the retail store is helping customers through the cost of living crisis.
The two royals will be welcomed to Bradford with a performance from The City of Bradford Brass Band and students from the Punjabi Roots Academy, who will be playing the dhol, a double-headed drum.
Councillor Martin Love, the Lord Mayor of Bradford, said: “It is a terrific honour for Bradford to be among the first places that our new King will visit.
“We are looking forward to showing off our great city and introducing King Charles to some of the exceptional people from across our district.”
The royal pair will also travel to Leeds, where King Charles will be shown ‘The World Reimagined Globes’, an educational art project to explore the impact of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.
He will also meet a range of people, including young achievers, members of the Jamaican and West Indian communities, plus representatives from Leeds financial sector at Leeds Building Society.
The King will also be shown a plaque memorial for Queen Elizabeth II, who visited in 1982.
The chief executive of Leeds Building Society, Richard Fearon, said: “We’re extremely honoured to have the opportunity to welcome His Majesty The King to the Society and to officially open our head office.
“We hope to show His Majesty how we, and the wider financial services sector in the city and region, are helping people to manage their money at this very uncertain and challenging time.”

King Charles will uphold the legacy of Queen Elizabeth by officially granting Doncaster city status, which was selected earlier this year as part of Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
The official city status will happen at the end of the trip at Mansion House where King Charles will give a speech and then will meet a range of local groups or individuals who have helped serve their community.
Doncaster was one of eight towns to be selected to become a city due to its rich history, as the area was originally a Roman settlement and is almost 2,000 years old.
The new city also has links to royalty, as the Royal Family regularly attend the St Leger Festival, which is an annual horseracing event.
However, the community spirit of Doncaster was one of the main reasons the location was selected, as locals rallied together to help each other during the 2019 floods in the area.
