North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un has been seen in a bright white tunic and safari-style hat while watching his country’s latest missile launch. It marks a departure in style for the leader, who is normally seen in dark outfits or a leather jacket.
In images released this week, Kim is seen looking through binoculars and in other looks to be enjoying the countryside as he looks out over a scenic coastal view.
The white tunic and straw-style hat sparked a number of comments on social media, with one user comparing it to Richard Attenborough’s outfit in ‘Jurassic Park’.
His country’s recent actions have caused concern amongst other world leaders as they believe it to be a sign of Kim’s nuclear ambitions.
Another two long-range strategic cruise missiles were launched this week, with state media calling it a “test to confirm the reliability and operation of nuclear-capable weapons deployed to military units”, reported The Mirror.
The state media Korea Central News Agency (KCNA) said the test fire was aimed at “enhancing the combat efficiency and might” of cruise missiles deployed to the army “for the operation of tactical nukes”.
Kim emphasised that the test should serve as a warning to his country’s perceived “enemies”.
He said North Korea should “continue to expand the operational sphere of the nuclear strategic armed forces to resolutely deter any crucial military crisis and war crisis at any time and completely take the initiative in it”.

Evacuation warnings were posted on Twitter in Japan, however fears were quickly calmed when the missile passed over.
North Korea has revealed that the missile over Japan was a “new type ground-to-ground intermediate-range ballistic missile”.
Officials in Seoul have said that if the North resumes nuclear testing for the first time since 2017, developing smaller devices could be one of its aims.
