On Christmas Day in 2020, Charles Anderson joined Emmerdale as the vicar who performed the wedding ceremony of Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt).

His appearance came after the local vicar, Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton), pulled out at the last minute.

Following the wedding, Charles was invited to Tall Trees Cottage for the reception and he has since integrated himself into the community.

As part of the soap’s 50th anniversary celebrations, a harrowing storyline has been playing out as a storm has hit the village.
