Katie Piper’s acid attacker has given probation officers the slip after being recalled to jail. Police have launched an urgent hunt to track him down.
Stefan Sylvestre threw acid over Ms Piper, then 24, in early 2008.
The attack was arranged by the former model’s ex-boyfriend, Daniel Lynch.
Ms Piper was left fighting for her life and sustained permanent scarring.
The next year, Sylvestre was handed a life sentence for the attack, though he was released on parole in 2018, then aged 30.
Sylvestre could now face more time in jail after going missing while on licence.
A spokeswoman for the Probation Service said on Sunday: “We are urgently working with the police to bring the offender back to prison where he’ll face longer behind bars.”
Ms Piper had in a relationship with Lynch for just a short while before the life-changing attack.
Prior to this attack, he sexually assaulted and beat Ms Piper in a hotel room.

For this, as well as her the act of sexual assault, he was jailed for life with a minimum of 16 years.
He cannot be considered for release until 2025.
In court, Judge Nicholas Browne QC descried Lynch and Sylvestre as “the face of pure evil”.
Sylvestre was in the process of being recalled to prison for breaching his licence conditions when he went on the run, according to reports.
Ms Piper filmed a television documentary on the impact of the attack in 2009.
