The Duchess of Cambridge stopped to smile at a youngster being held by their father as she and the Duke visited Starbank Park.

It comes after mother-of-three Kate sparked excitement from royal fans yesterday when she bent down to see a baby in a pram.

William and Kate visited Starbank Park to hear about the work of Fields in Trust.

The organisation is running a pioneering initiative to reduce inequality of access to green spaces in the UK.

William has been president of Fields of Trust since 2013 after taking on the role from Prince Philip.

The Cambridges heard about the charity’s Green Space Index, which is an annual barometer of green space provision and distribution across the UK.

The couple also spoke to volunteers and families about how important the park has been to the local community.

At one point, Kate beamed as she met a baby being held in their father’s arms.

The Duchess – who is mother to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louise – also made a fuss of a tot brought along by their mother during an engagement on Wednesday.

A picture shared on Twitter sparked a delighted reaction from royal fans.

The royal well-wisher who posted the snap said: “Look at that cute little baby Catherine and William met today, the beanie is amazing.”

Including the eyes emoji, they added: “C’mon Catherine and William.”
