Today host Karl Stefanovic and radio presenter Brendan Fevola reveal how many Covid kilos they’ve stacked on during lockdown
Karl Stefanovic and Brendan Fevola have been stacking on the kilos during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Radio host Brendan, 40, revealed on the Fifi, Fev & Nick breakfast show on Tuesday he’d gained ‘at least 17 to 18 kilos’ during Melbourne’s extended lockdown.
Today anchor Karl, 47, called in from Sydney and admitted he’d put on maybe ’12, 13 [kilos]’ as a result of the stay-at-home orders.

‘I guess I should do something about it. I just can’t be bothered,’ Karl laughed.
He continued: ‘You know what I’m saying to myself now to justify all of this, “Eventually we’ll come out of this, Karlos, so you may as well eat and drink what you want until you come out of it.”‘
Karl revealed he’d been indulging while in lockdown, telling Brendan: ‘I rediscovered my love for alcohol on the weekend.’
Stacking on the kilos: Today host Karl Stefanovic, who called in to the show from Sydney, also revealed he put on weight in lockdown, confessing: ‘Well, I reckon maybe 12, 13 [kilos]’
The Channel Nine star explained: ‘Friday after I get home from work at 9:30 in the morning, I always try and have a little sleep. I try and muster all the courage I can to get past midday before I have a drink.
‘And then I just start with light beers and then I gradually move up to vodkas and then I’m asleep by seven o’clock.
‘On Saturday, I’m definitely a red wine person because I’ll cook something.
Karl noted that he likes to pair red wine with Wagyu steak, and revealed this combination sets him back ‘about $180 a kilo’.

Karl added: ‘It’s my go-to because a local butcher does it for me.’
Meanwhile, Brendan said of his drinking habits: ‘I’m up to at least a bottle and a half to two bottles of red a day. Just because there’s nothing to do.’

‘I can lose weight pretty quickly but now I’m just sitting around the house all the time and there’s no reason to lose any weight,’ he said.
While his long-term partner Alex and stepdaughter Mia have active lifestyle, he admitted: ‘I can’t get motivated.
‘During the first lockdown I was motivated. Then the second lockdown I was trying to stay fit. The third, fourth, fifth, eighteenth… I just stay home and eat.’
