Hugh Jackman has proven once again why he’s known as the nicest guy in Hollywood.

The Australian superstar, 52, melted hearts on Tuesday when he publicly responded to a TikTok video of a British grandfather with dementia singing along while watching The Greatest Showman at an outdoor cinema.

The video was originally posted by the man’s grandson Charlie, who captioned the clip: ‘Life is about memories whatever stage of life.’

Overwhelmed with emotion, the grandfather began crying with joy as the credits rolled.

‘Wonderful, I could watch it again, big smiles,’ he beamed as tears streamed down his face.

Hugh, who starred in the 2017 musical blockbuster, uploaded part of the clip to Twitter, adding the message: ‘Thanks for sharing Charlie. Your Grandad sure made me smile. Please give him a hug for me. HJ.’

Hugh also re-posted a full version of the video to Instagram, but chose not to add a caption.

At the beginning of the clip, Charlie explained that his grandfather had been diagnosed with second-stage vascular dementia – a condition that causes a decline in cognitive function due to reduced blood flow to the brain.

To cheer him up, Charlie decided to take him to see an outdoor screening of one of his favourite films, The Greatest Showman.

‘I decided to take him to a sing along at the weekend so he can sing the songs,’ he wrote in the clip.

Due to his condition, the grandfather didn’t immediately remember whether he’d seen the movie before.

However, the memories came flooding back when the movie started to play, with Charlie filming his grandfather dancing and singing along to the film’s songs, including From Now On and A Million Dreams.
