Hugh Jackman ‘didn’t request special treatment’ during hotel quarantine after flying into Sydney from New York
He may be a Hollywood star, but Hugh Jackman asked to be treated like any other Australian returning from overseas when he entered hotel quarantine this week.
The X-Men actor, 52, is currently halfway through his mandatory 14-day stay at a Sydney hotel after flying from New York City.
And according to a mummy blogger who is staying in the same building, Hugh specifically asked staff for no special treatment.

The blogger wrote on Wednesday: ‘Little Hugh update: The nurse who called this morning said he is good and he has been great and insisted from the start he is treated the same and everyone else.’
Hugh surprised fans on Sunday by announcing on Instagram he had flown to Sydney from NYC. He hadn’t indicated previously that he planned to travel to Australia.
He posted a photo of a sunrise over the Harbour City, and wrote: ‘Good morning Australia. Second sunrise in quarantine.’

The Oscar winner also shared another picture on Instagram Stories of the view from his flight as his plane landed in Sydney on Saturday.
He captioning the image ‘The Landing’, adding: ‘Thank you to all airport and flight officials for keeping such good care to keep everyone safe.’
In a subsequent post, Hugh acknowledged the traditional owners of the land which incorporates Sydney, the Gadigal people.

The reveal comes after Hugh proved he was a Sydney boy at heart as he supported the NSW Blues during last Wednesday’s State of Origin game.
The Wolverine star shared a series of photos to Instagram as he watched the football game from his home in New York.
In one picture, Hugh posted an image of his TV screen and wrote: ‘C’mon the Blues!’

Hugh moved to New York with his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, and their children in 2008, and they own a swanky apartment in the West Village.
He had initially been in Melbourne when Covid-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2020, but flew to the U.S. to keep his family together.
Last year, Hugh revealed he was homesick for Australia after NYC’s lengthy coronavirus lockdown, which perhaps explains his decision to return Down Under.
