‘What an epic win!’ Hugh Jackman shows his support for New South Wales as they claim the NRL State of Origin series against Queensland
Despite being a Hollywood superstar, Hugh Jackman is a Sydney boy at heart, proudly supporting the Blues in Sunday night’s game two of NRL’s State of Origin.
The 52-year-old, who has just finished the mandatory two-week hotel quarantine in Sydney after flying in from New York, celebrated New South Wales’ win against Queensland.
Hugh posted an image of his TV screen on his Instagram Stories and wrote: ‘Yes yes yes @nswblues. What an epic win. Best rivalry in sports.’

Watching game one on June 9 from his home in New York, Hugh shared a series of photos to Instagram.

The actor also shared another photo of the final score after the game and captioned the picture: ‘Look at that score! But never count QLD Maroons out. Ever. Two games to go.’
Game one was the first-ever State of Origin match played in Townsville, with a capacity crowd of about 30,000 screaming Queenslanders on hand to cheer the Maroons.
The match went ahead despite a case of coronavirus recorded in the state earlier that day.

Hugh moved to New York with his wife Deborra-Lee Furness and their children in 2008, and they reside in the trendy West Village.
Last year, Hugh revealed he was homesick for Australia after a lengthy lockdown in New York City due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Deborra-Lee and the couple’s children had initially been in Melbourne when COVID-19 was declared a pandemic in March 2019.
But they returned to the U.S. just four days later in order to keep the family together.
