Blinds can get incredibly dusty, and while you may have forgotten about them for longer than you care to admit, you get that instant ick-factor when you do. Dust bunnies can quickly take over the blinds, and if you’re someone with allergies then it may be a hidden contributing factor to your sneezing fits at home. Thankfully, cleaning the blinds doesn’t need to be a long and arduous task – here’s how.

Leave the blinds open so that they get a chance to dry thoroughly.

For very dirty, sticky plastic blinds, save yourself the headache of scrubbing by letting them soak.

Remove them from the window and place them in a bathtub filled with warm water and a good squeeze of washing up liquid.

Let them soak inside for an hour so as to really let the detergent get to work on the dirt.

Rinse and hang them outside in the garden or balcony until they are completely dry before replacing onto the windows.
