How Nadia Bartel can save her career after her ‘cocaine’ scandal: Showbiz guru says the WAG’s apology isn’t enough and she needs to ‘cry to Tracy Grimshaw on A Current Affair’
Nadia Bartel has faced immense scrutiny after she was filmed snorting white powder and breaking lockdown during an illegal gathering on Thursday.
And now one of Australia’s most respected entertainment reporters has offered his two cents on how the former WAG can save her career.
Speaking on 3AW’s Ross and Russel, journalist Peter Ford said Nadia, 36, had to do a lot more than just issue a grovelling apology on Instagram.
Advice: Veteran entertainment reporter Peter Ford has given a suggestion on what former WAG Nadia Bartel should do after the infamous ‘cocaine’ snorting scandal
‘I think she’s going to have to offer more than she has. That apology that came out, that I doubt she wrote herself – it admitted nothing, it confirmed nothing,’ Ford said.
He suggested the apology didn’t come from Bartel herself but was most likely written by her ‘management at IMG’ and her ‘legal people’.
Ford said Nadia’s best chance at redemption is an interview on A Current Affair.
‘I think if you’re going to be serious about it, if you do want to close the chapter, you’ve got to sit down. I’d be on the phone with Tracy Grimshaw,’ he said.

‘You got to see the whites of your eyes. You’ve got to cry. People want to see celebrities cry when they stuff up and I’m not sure she’s going to go down that path.’
Ford also cast doubt on claims the video was leaked by accident.
However, this contradicts multiple reports claiming the video was posted by mistake by Nadia’s friend and business partner Ellie Pearson.

According to The Sydney Morning Herald, Pearson was trying to send the video to her sister but accidentally posted it to Instagram because her phone’s screen was damaged.
The video was live for 10 minutes before being deleted, but that was enough time for someone to download the clip and share it to others.
Pearson has since deleted her Instagram account.

Nadia and three other women were issued with Penalty Infringement Notices on Monday, following the illegal gathering in Melbourne on Thursday evening.
Each woman has been fined $5,452, but a fifth woman was not charged because she was ‘complying with employment restrictions’, Victoria Police said on Monday.
Police are also investigating possible drug offences after Nadia was recorded at the party snorting white powder believed to be cocaine.
