A 15-month-old boy has been killed after being hit by a pickup truck in a suspected hit and run, police say. The toddler walked out into a road after climbing out of the backseat of a car where he was not secured, according to the Chicago Police Department.
The incident happened at around 2pm on Monday at North Pulaski Road in the Albany Park area of Chicago, Illinois.
Paramedics took the boy to Lurie Children’s Hospital – around 11 kilometers away – where he was pronounced dead.
Police said the pickup truck did not stop and left the scene.
