Home workouts can be just as effective as gym workouts, and some may feel more comfortable exercising from the comfort of their homes. However, without gym equipment it can be hard to know what routine to follow. One expert has shared a workout plan that could help you lose weight.
The expert shared a simple strength workout routine.
Strength training can help with excess fat loss as well as help to boost the metabolism.
A simple strength workout could include five rounds of eight press ups, followed by 10 slow and controlled sit ups, followed by a rest of one minute and 30 seconds.
The expert then suggested trying five rounds of 10 squats followed by 20 lunges, each with a rest of one minute in between.
“The way to look at working out at home is to keep it simple and fun,” the expert said.
Of course, it is important to eat a healthy and balanced diet too.
The expert explained: “You might not want to hear this, but no workout system can fight a bad diet.
“The secret to losing fat is by eating less calories than you burn. Yes, unfortunately it’s true, if you want to lose fat, you need to eat less high fat, high sugar, calorie dense foods.
“This is so much easier than you think.
“By cooking your own food instead of ordering your favourite takeaway. Keep it simple, stir fry’s, curries and the odd spag bol is cheap and easy to make.
“Mindful eating and three workouts a week will not only get you mentally and physically ready to come out of lockdown; it will set you up for success throughout the summer.”
