Hawaii rocked by huge earthquake and 12 aftershocks: Shaking buildings spark panic

    A 6.2 magnitude offshore quake was recorded south west of the US state on Sunday.

    The earthquake reached a depth of 22 miles (35 km) and was centred south of Naalehu, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

    The USGS initially reported the earthquake’s magnitude at 6.1, but it was later upgraded to 6.2. 

    The US Tsunami Warning System said there was no threat of a tsunami.
