The well-known personality shared a throwback photo to Instagram on Thursday from her youth. 

The woman in the photo is none other than beloved newsreader Chris Bath, 54. 

‘I was lucky enough to work in regional TV in Albury and Newcastle. And I still believe that a vibrant local media is incredibly important to regional areas to tell local stories with local knowledge and local empathy,’ she reflected alongside the photo.

‘Those years in regional telly taught me many valuable lessons in front of a forgiving audience & I’ll always be grateful for it but….. here’s proof I worked too close to the last gasp of the ’80’s.’

The news anchor previously said that she never felt like a ‘trailblazer’ and that she admits it was not always easy being a woman in the media. 

In fact, the news veteran admits women are often judged for how they look not the quality of their work, and that she’s had some ‘psychopathic’ bosses.

Reflections: ‘I’ve worked for some bosses who were gender blind; they didn’t care. If they thought you could do it, they’d get you to do it. But not everybody was like that,’ she says

‘I have also worked for bosses who are complete psychopaths. It’s not necessarily because they were sexist… they were just sociopaths.’

However, she added: ‘I do think women on television are often judged on their appearance rather than what comes out of their mouth.’
