The first teaser for the new Gossip Girl series was shared on Friday morning by HBO Max.
The stars of the series – which will debut on July 8 – are Jordan Alexander, Eli Brown, Thomas Doherty, Tavi Gevinson, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Zion Moreno, Whitney Peak and Savannah Lee Smith were all seen in a party setting for the short clip.

‘You’ve gotten so comfortable thinking you are in control,’ it says in voiceover.
Then two women are seen sitting close on a tan sofa as they appear to be gossiping while flashing their legs.
The voice over adds, ‘You feel in control of your image, actions, the narrative, but you forgot one thing: I can see you. And before I’m through I will make sure you see you too.’

Comfort? ‘You’ve gotten so comfortable thinking you are in control,’ it says in voiceover
Party guests are seen chatting and a bartender makes a martini as they suddenly look exposed and have horrified looks on their faces.
A couple kisses.
In the background it is added: ‘You know I love you’ can be heard over and over.
The clips ends with the voiceover saying, ‘XOXO’ as the entire cast is collected in one area of the party and they gaze at the camera.

A press release sent out on Friday shares the new series has many updates.
‘This extension of the pop culture classic takes us back to the Upper East Side finding a new generation of New York private school teens being introduced to social surveillance nine years after the original blogger’s website went dark,’ it is explained.
‘Gossip Girl explores just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years.’
Developed by showrunner Joshua Safran, a writer and executive producer on the original series, the show is produced by Fake Empire and Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Bros. Television and CBS Studios.

The series is written, executive produced and developed by Joshua Safran of Random Acts.

The series is based on the bestselling novels by Cecily von Ziegesar and the original show, developed by Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage.
