‘Porn sets tend to be a hell of a lot more inclusive than traditional film sets,’ she told The New York Times.

‘There’s also a lot more conversations surrounding consent, respect and on-set conduct,’ she added.

Caitlin spoke about the cultural differences between adult and mainstream filmmaking in another interview with Rose & Ivy in January

‘The porn world is a complicated one, but like any industry there are myriad experiences you can have,’ she said.

‘Mine have all been exceedingly positive, respectful and professional.’

She added: ‘Traditional film sets are often dominated by men, and it may surprise people to know that porn sets are incredibly diverse, often captained by queer people all along the gender spectrum.’

Caitlin has directed three erotic films for Afterglow, each one focusing on female empowerment, intimacy and sexual inclusivity.

One of her films, titled U Up?, explores intimacy during the Covid-19 pandemic by telling the story of a couple who have a sexual encounter via their mobile phones.

‘Caitlin’s a fabulous narrative director, and her involvement brings the high-quality, cinematic Hollywood experience we strive for at Afterglow,’ company founder Lilly Sparks said in statement.

‘We’re thrilled to be working with her in reducing the shame and stigma around sex and sex work.’

Caitlin joined Afterglow after befriending intimacy coordinator and Afterglow’s Head of Production Allie Oops while they were both working on another project together.

Allie invited her to join the team as a director after discovering the Sleepover Club star’s passion for expressing her sexuality.
