The retired champion, whose nickname is ‘Money Mayweather’, captioned the photo of his winning betslip: ‘A light win’, after winning a total of $20,150.

Mayweather has a history of betting large amounts of money on sports and has been known to gamble as much as $400,000 on one event.

Lopez’ victory has become the latest winner for Mayweather after his stunning victory in Las Vegas.

The American was favoured 119-109, 117-111 and 116-112 on the ringside scorecards in a bout where Lomachenko looked sluggish and slow.

Lopez now boasts a record of 16-0 and added the three titles held by Lomachenko, who recorded his second defeat of his career, to the belt he won last year to become the undisputed 135-champion.

After the fight, Lomachenko felt he had performed better than the judges had indicated.

‘Definitely I am not agreeing with the scorecards,’ he said.
