Farmer Wants a Wife’s Matt admits he’s still ‘torn apart’ as he tells Tara about his late father’s heartbreaking cancer battle
Farmer Matt Trewin opened up about his personal heartbreak during an intimate date with Tara on Farmer Wants a Wife on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old spoke about his late father’s legacy during a heart-to-heart with the blonde beauty and opened up about his father’s battle with cancer.
Matt said he’s a proud fourth generation farmer and wanted to ask Tara if she’d be happy moving to his farm in Orbost, regional Victoria.

‘You know, I’m the fourth generation home now on the farm, on the family farm… and I reckon I couldn’t give that up,’ he said.
Tara said she understood that Matt would want someone to move to his farm and said moving isn’t the hard part for her.
Matt went on to share his heartbreak over his father’s death, saying ‘life will never be the same.’

‘So recently dad has passed away with cancer. Life’s never going to be the same,’ he said to camera.
‘It tears you apart, losing your best friend let alone your father. Yeah, it’s heartbreaking but, you know, I know he’d be super proud watching over me.’
Matt said that he’s ‘very attracted to Tara’ but wanted her to ‘open up a bit more.’
He said that when he’s with Tara, he gets a ‘warm fuzzy feeling’ his parents used to tell him he’d experience when he’s falling in love.

‘There’s feelings there and that fuzzy warm feeling there… I’m getting that fuzzy warm feeling dad used to talk about,’ Matt said.
‘Dad said, “when I met your mother I was blown away and had this fuzzy feeling.”
‘He said, “you’ll know one day when you get it”… I think I’m in the same boat here.’
During the show on Wednesday meanwhile, the farmers sent a total of six women home.
And in a surprise to no one, farmer Andrew booted Lucy from the competition, after she stirred up a kissing drama earlier this week.
