Following the devastating storm in Emmerdale, David Metcalfe (played by Matthew Wolfenden) is aiming to save the village as part of a new business venture. The returning entrepreneur is talked into uplifting the area as part of a regeneration project. However, will his plan go as smoothly as he hopes?
David has been away helping Alicia (Natalie Anderson), who is in Portugal but has suffered an accident while abroad.
He returns to a village destroyed by the monumental storm which has shaken Emmerdale farm to its core.
Official spoilers for the ITV soap show how Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) reminds him of the importance of moving on.
She tells the businessman he needs to begin attracting customers again and tries to inspire a crestfallen David.

“We had these industrial wind machines which were literally blowing sand and debris into your eyes.
She continued: “So when it came to it, it wasn’t as emotional because the technicality of what you have to do takes away from the emotion so I managed to get through the day without sobbing,” she told Digital Spy.
Fans were also stunned to see Emmerdale favourite Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steel) succumb to the extreme weather.
On the shocking 19 October episode, she was crushed by a caravan as she attempted to reach the pub to protect Paddy Kirk’s (Dominic Brunt) daughter.
Elsewhere in the village, Sam Dingle (James Hooton) was horrifically impaled on a spike.
In gruesome scenes, he chased some cows who’d escaped the farm but fell on the farming machinery.
Fans were left on a cliffhanger at the end of the episode to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the show.
However, they were relieved to see the loveable character survive the injuries in hospital.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights on ITV at 7.30pm.
