Many Pride Month celebrations are still on hold this year, with precautions still in place amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
But on Monday, YouTube Pride 2021 announced that Elton John, 74, and his husband David Furnish, 58, are set to host a star-studded virtual party on 25th June, to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
The couple will be joined by Demi Lovato, Olly Alexander with Mawaan Rizwan, Trixie Mattel, and Daniel Howell who will each host their Pride party from their respective YouTube channels.

The aim is to encourage viewers to help the LGBTQ+ community by raising funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, The Trevor Project and akt.
Last week, YouTube Pride 2021 announced that Demi Lovato, 28, and Olly Alexander, 30, are also set to host.
The American singer and the It’s A Sin’s star will lead a stellar line up for the multi-hour global live stream event.
It will kick off at 8pm on Years & Years’ YouTube channel before moving over to YouTube Originals.

YouTube Originals alongside JA Films are putting together the virtual celebration, which will feature multiple hosts.
The evening’s finale will be hosted by Demi Lovato, who will invite viewers to join them on a Pride journey of discovery from a special venue in LA.
Demi – who revealed last month that they are non-binary and prefers they/them pronouns – will meet with special guests and fans while speaking about topics such as queer identity, mental health, and body positivity.
As part of the UK line up, Years & Years musician Olly Alexander is teaming up with actor, writer and comedian Mawaan Rizwan.

Journey of discovery: The evening’s finale will be hosted by Demi Lovato, who will invite viewers to join them on a Pride journey of discovery from a special venue in LA
The pair will be co-hosting from an East London local pub, celebrating the roadmapped return to freedom in England by transforming the pub into a Loud & Proud party venue.
They will be inviting their friends from the LGBTQ+ community from the worlds of comedy, music, social media and activism to celebrate Pride with them.
This includes a special guest appearance from activist Munroe Bergdorf, big surprise performances, celebrity guests and a lot of laughter.
The line-up of performers confirmed so far includes: Tyler Oakley, Trixie Mattel, Kim Chi, Monét X Change, Miss Peppermint and Denali Foxx.

Speaking about his involvement in YouTube Pride 2021, Olly said: ‘I’m very excited to be co-hosting my own variety show with some super talented LGBTQ+ cuties and I get to co-host with the cute and funny Mawaan!
‘We’ll be chatting to some gorgey people from the community, there will be live music surprises and yes I will be performing an exclusive song!’
Mawaan gushed: ‘I’m so excited to be doing the show for YouTube Originals alongside my mate Olly.
‘Pride is a great celebration of our LGBTQIA+ community and I’m really looking forward to a party this year after everything that’s happened.

British author Daniel Howell will also celebrate YouTube Pride 2021 by taking a journey through his past, and asking – what would have been different if Dan was proud?
To make Youtube Pride 2021 a community moment, JA Films has created a microsite with a Call To Action asking anyone to submit video content sharing stories of Pride, questions for the hosts and more. Select responses will then be featured throughout the streams on 25th June 2021.

As part of YouTube’s ongoing commitment to support the LGBTQ+ community, YouTube Originals is partnering with charity akt in the UK, and The Trevor Project in the US.
akt supports LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 across the UK, who are facing or experiencing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.
During the pandemic akt have seen increased demand for their online services, YouTube’s contribution will fund digital caseworkers who can provide invaluable support to those in areas outside of akt’s hub cities.
The aim is to help these young LGBTQ+ people into suitable accommodation, work, or education to prevent them from becoming homeless again in the future.
During the YouTube Pride event, UK viewers will be encouraged to donate to akt on the livestream, while US viewers will be encouraged to donate to The Trevor Project, an organization committed to providing support, resources and suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth.
