Ellen DeGeneres and her wife Portia de Rossi have flipped their Bali-style California home only two years after buying it for $27million.
The four-bedroom property in Montecito, Santa Barbara is dubbed Salt Hill and offers unobstructed views of the ocean and mountains from its infinity pool and wooden patio deck.
But the stars recently put the home – which has five bathrooms and five half-bathrooms – on the market for $39.9million after a burglary three months ago.

Finding Dory star DeGeneres’ home wouldn’t look out of place in Bali with its lush greenery and pond. Ellen DeGeneres (L) and Portia de Rossi are picture left in May 2014
With its lush greenery and koi fish pond, the Finding Dory star’s estate resembles a Balinese escape.
It unfolds in three parcels across 9.3 acres of land after the couple extended to buy the adjacent home for $1.9million.
Some of the $13million price increase is thought to come from an upgrade in security features after the home was burglarized over the summer.
As well as high-tech lasers and security cameras, there is also now a security office that takes up 400 sq ft on site.
The main house stretches 8,200 sq ft and has three of the bedrooms plus 4.5 bathrooms. The great room features South Asian-inspired wooden bean ceilings, low furniture beside the fireplace and additional dining and seating areas in the indoor-outdoor space.
The loggia – which has its own fire pit – is accessible from both the great room and the kitchen, which has black marble counters that provide plenty of room for food preparation and appliances with its additional central island counter.
The kitchen appears especially sleek with invisible draw and cabinet pulls as well as open upper shelving and state-of-the art appliances including a dishwasher.
The huge four-bedroom home also has a security office and gym/cabana as well as infinity pool
The home is on recently-expanded 9+ acre grounds that unfold in three parcels and also comes with its own pickleball court
The infinity pool lights up by night so the next lucky owner can take evening dips in the mild California climate
The sprawling estate also offers unobstructed views of the ocean and great spots for watching sunsets
The loggia is an ideal spot for entertaining numerous guests while maintaining an intimate and relaxed feel

Large Fleetwood glass doors allow light to come flooding into practically every area of the house.

One nook that appears to be a darker respite is a cozy library area where bookshelves line the walls. Still like other areas of the house, the walls are still large enough for standout artwork; in this case, a neon wall sign that features the phrase ‘I know.’
The mansion is definitely suited to outdoorsy types; there’s a 720 sq ft cabana which could also be a gym, sauna and outside spa, plus a pickleball court.
The main home was completed in 2011 by the previous owner – a philanthropist.
Across the way from the single story house is a 1,400 sq ft guest house for ultimate privacy.
The listing by Riskin Partners Group describes the home as ‘warm and modern, timeless and utterly cool,’ and says it ‘ pairs relentlessly clean lines with the organic undulations of the surrounding environment.’
