The Belgian forward is widely expected to seal a mega move to Madrid in the coming days, after saying goodbye to Chelsea this week.

He will become Los Blancos’ first major signing since Ronaldo departed last summer for Juventus, as the Spanish giants failed to land any marquee names last year.

Reports suggest that a deal has been agreed to send Hazard to Madrid for £115million, after Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich stepped in and accepted the bid on behalf of the board.

And apparently the hierarchy at Madrid are willing to give him Ronaldo’s old shirt number, rather than his familiar 10 shirt worn for Chelsea.

That number is still occupied by Luka Modric, whereas Mariano Diaz has failed to live up to the expectations that come with the seven shirt.

According to The Sun, Madrid president Florentino Perez wants to announce the deal early next week after finalising a contract on Monday.

However, Chelsea are reportedly playing hardball over the move, and rejected the opening bid of £110m from the Spanish side.

Hazard is keen to push through the move, and insisted he was simply waiting for both clubs to come to an agreement before the deal could be confirmed.

The forward, who has been at Chelsea for seven years, scored twice on what could be his final game for the Blues, as he helped his team win the Europa League on Wednesday.

His double set Maurizio Sarri’s side on their way to a thumping 4-1 win over Arsenal, and afterwards the Belgian admitted his desire to leave.

“I think it’s a goodbye,” he told BT Sport.

“We will decide in a few days and the only target in my mind tonight was to win this final.

“But I have made my decision already and now I’m waiting on both clubs.

“I think it is a goodbye, but in football you never know.

“My dream was to play in the Premier League and I have done that for one of the biggest clubs, so maybe now it is the time for a new challenge.”

On Friday, pictures emerged of Hazard on holiday in Spain posing with a Real Madrid jersey, and apparently signing it.

The Mirror obtained images of the star on a family holiday in Marbella posing for pictures with the kit, and reportedly said “no” when asked if he would consider joining Barcelona instead.
