Eamonn Holmes suffers unfortunate gaffe after thinking Daisy Lowe’s dad Gavin Rossdale was DEAD when she paid tribute in Father’s Day post
Eamonn Holmes suffered an unfortunate gaffe on Sunday as he sent his condolences to Daisy Lowe after mistakenly believing her father had died.
Daisy, 32, shared a touching Father’s Day message to her dad Gavin Rossdale, 55, as she lamented the fact that she couldn’t see him as he lives in America.
However, Eamonn was rather confused by the post, and commented saying he ‘had no idea’ she’d lost her parent.
Daisy seemed to be unfazed by the slip-up and clarified the situation, explaining the musician is ‘just in LA’ where she can’t visit at the moment because of the pandemic.

Replying to a lovely snap of Daisy and Gavin, Eamonn innocently penned: ‘I had no idea u had lost your Dad Daisy. He must have been so young x’
While Daisy responded to his comment: ‘@eamonnholmes he’s just in la where I can’t visit!!! Thank you love xxx’
Her original Father’s Day tribute read: ‘HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD – god I miss you…. (Global pandemics & living in different continents really suck ) It’s been way too long since I gave you a cuddle.
‘Wishing you the most gorgeous day with my angel brothers- thanks for being the greatest leader of the pack.

Innocent mistake: The TV host, 61, had penned that he ‘had no idea’ Daisy had lost her dad

All good: She replied telling Eamonn that they were just apart because of travel restrictions
‘Giving the best advice, forever the calm and compassionate fountain of wisdom.
And the creator of the worlds best breakfast burritos. I am so grateful, in the worlds most complicated way, you turned out to be my dad.
‘You inspire me every day… I love you more than words could ever express- I can’t wait til we get to have more adventures together again.’
Gavin seemed very pleased with the sweet post, replying that he’s ‘so proud’ of his eldest child and can’t wait to be reunited.

Father and daughter: Daisy, whose mum is Pearl Lowe, was 14 when she discovered her godfather Gavin was in fact her parent (pictured in a post shared to mark his birthday in 2016)

Gushing: The model, who is based in England, sweetly praised her father for being the ‘greatest leader of the pack’ and wished him the best Father’s Day with her ‘angel brothers’
He wrote: ‘awwwww my sweet love – you are really so kind and so special ———-i’m so proud of you —-we love you so much and need you to get here to us.
‘We have adventures waiting. and we need your cakes. @kingsrossdale_ @ya_yeet769 and apollo. xxxxx’
Daisy, whose mum is Pearl Lowe, was 14 when she discovered Bronner Handwerger was not her father and a paternity test revealed her godfather Gavin was in fact her parent.
During her marriage to Handweger, Pearl became embroiled in a one night stand with ‘best friend’ musician Rossdale, singer and guitarist with rock band Bush.

Thankful: Gavin replied saying he’s ‘so proud’ of Daisy and can’t wait to be reunited

Family: Daisy has three younger brothers on her dad’s side – Kingston (pictured with the model), Apollo and Zuma – who he shares with ex-wife Gwen Steffani
When Daisy was 14 she followed up on undergoing a paternity test based on her mother’s suspicions that Bronner wasn’t the father, although Gavin vowed to never speak to Pearl again if Daisy had the DNA test.
The father and daughter have since said they have a ‘good relationship’, with Daisy mentioning her three younger brothers in the Father’s Day post.
Gavin shares his sons – Kingston, Apollo and Zuma – with singer Gwen Steffani, who he married in 2002.
13 years after tying the knot, Gavin and Gwen confirmed their split and their divorce was finalised in April 2016.

Close bond: Although not knowing Gavin was her dad until she was a teenager, the duo have since said they have a ‘good relationship’ (pictured together in London in 2016)
