Disabled drivers may benefit from 'fundamental differences' to the Blue Badge scheme

    The review, commissioned by Valtech – providers of the Blue Badge Digital Service – found some common issues encountered by local authorities and drivers.

    In particular, there were difficulties in how people with non-visible disabilities could provide the right evidence to support their application.

    The new changes mean the DfT will provide more guidance on the medical evidence required for a successful application.

    Support aimed at medical experts will also be introduced, encouraging them to provide high-quality evidence which is relevant to the application as soon as possible.
