But the strips bore a very close resemblance to the kits palace had been using this season.
The home shirt has red and blue vertical stripes, while the white away kit has a red and blue diagonal sash.
Palace were alerted to the kit and wrote on Twitter: “What does your third kit look like?” with the ‘thinking face’ emoji.
The Premier League side later wrote another Tweet poking fun at Newcastle, writing: “Get up to 40 per cent off the latest N̶e̶w̶c̶a̶s̶t̶l̶e̶ ̶J̶e̶t̶s̶ Crystal Palace kits!”
The Jets account replied with an image from hit cartoon Futurama, with the words: “Shut up and take my money!”
Comments flooded in on social media from the original posts.
One fan said: “Are you Palace in disguise?”
Another said: “Top trolling”, while one said: “can we get some gold shorts next year?”
