Tess Daly donned a shimmering off-the-shoulder black jumpsuit to host the latest instalment of Strictly Come Dancing. Claudia Winkleman wore the opposite colour palette to her co-host and chose to wear a white blazer with glittery white flared trousers. However, Claudia’s bold ensemble left many BBC viewers baffled, with some comparing her to a “cotton bud”.

Claudia wore her hair down and sleek for the show and her white blazer was covered in jewels.

However, viewers found themselves distracted by her dramatic long sequin bellbottoms which completely covered her shoes.

Many Strictly Come Dancing fans took to Twitter to comment on Claudia’s outfit, with @Spacedogsradio remarking: “Claudia looks like a cotton bud tonight #Strictly.”

@Ibizagirl fumed: “No no no Claudia, those leggings are dreadful. Tess really suits her outfit though, love it #strictly.”

According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, Will Mellor is the favourite to win this year’s competition.

The former Coronation Street star is just 3/1 with the bookies for the Glitterball Trophy, with Countryfile Helen Skelton close behind at 7/2.

As it stands, the odds suggest Bros star Matt Goss will be sent home this weekend, with 9/4 being the price on offer for him to be kicked off on Sunday.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Will Mellor continues to impress judges, viewers and punters alike and we’re expecting another solid performance from the series frontrunner this weekend.”

The first celebrity to be booted off the show was Loose Women star Kaye Adams who was paired up with Kai Widdrington.

Kaye said during an appearance on Strictly: It Takes Two on Monday: “It’s been fantastic. It really has. I’m going to cry; it’s been a privilege to meet you, Kai.”

Speaking after her exit was confirmed she said: “It was the right result and I did make mistakes, and when it comes to that high-pressured situation that’s what happen, so I am delighted for Matt and Nadiya.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays at 6.30pm on BBC One, with the results show airing on Sunday.
