Chrissie Swan is ELIMINATED from Celebrity MasterChef Australia after presenting a Quiche Lorraine without bacon as she admits to being a ‘total bonkers mess’

Chrissie Swan was eliminated on Sunday night’s episode of Celebrity MasterChef Australia after failing to impress the judges with her dish centred around bacon.

The 47-year-old radio star, who was joined by retired Olympic swimmer Ian Thorpe in the bottom two, presented a ‘deconstructed Quiche Lorraine’ without bacon.

With parts of the pastry ‘dense’ and ‘raw’ and forgetting to include bacon in the egg mixture, Chrissie joked in a piece to camera that she’s a ‘total bonkers mess’.

Judge Melissa Leong first described the dish as ‘full-bodied and generous’ however was less than impressed with its ‘execution’.

Fellow judge Jock Zonfrillo agreed, saying that while there’s ‘so much to love’ about the dish, the pastry and the lack of bacon in the tart was the real problem.

‘The pastry is your problem, there isn’t much of it. A little biscuit style deconstructed quiche pastry, but there is this clod of dense raw pastry at the bottom which is just heinous,’ he said.

‘I wish you remembered to put the bacon in it because it would have been better, so this puts us in a very difficult position.’

While Ian’s Japanese club sandwich was branded ‘quite simple’ by the judges, the 39-year-old managed to avoid elimination with Chrissie being sent home.

Taking the loss in her stride, Chrissie said she’s had a ‘full MasterChef experience’ and while there’s been ‘panic and things going wrong’, it’s still been ‘fabulous’.

A tearful Ian praised Chrissie for being ‘one of the best cooks’ on the show and said he thoroughly enjoyed sampling her culinary creations.

And when actress Rebecca Gibney said she taught them how to ‘live in the moment’ and just ‘enjoy it’, Chrissie had them in stitches with her witty response.

‘Maybe I should have taken it a bit more seriously,’ she said before laughing wildly.

Chrissie added in a piece to camera: ‘There’s no other way I’d rather go out than as a total bonkers mess because that’s who I am.’
