Chelsea are reportedly ready to pay £30million for Fulham’s 17-year-old starlet Luke Harris. The attacking midfielder scored a hat-trick against the Blues’ under-21s side last month and has been named in the Wales squad for their Nations League showdown with Poland on Sunday.
Chelsea were taken over by Todd Boehly at the end of May after Roman Abramovich had put the club on the market. And the American spent more than £270m during the summer transfer window as the west London giants brought in eight new players.
The Blues clearly have the cash to compete for Premier League and Champions League silverware in the years to come. And they have identified Harris as someone who could make an impact at the club.
According to the Sunday Mirror/People Sport, a deal for the player is now on the cards, with Chelsea set to pay an initial £25m plus £5m in add-ons to get their hands on their man. The Blues have been on Harris’ trail since his hat-trick a month ago and have already been in advanced discussions with their neighbouring club about signing the teenage sensation.

Chelsea have endured a tumultuous year throughout 2022 as their previous Russian oligarch owner Abramovich was forced to put the club up for sale when he was sanctioned in light of his country’s invasion of Ukraine. Boehly then completed his purchase before backing Thomas Tuchel in the transfer market over the summer.
But Boehly handed the German manager his marching order earlier this month following an indifferent start to the season. And Graham Potter has since been lured away from Brighton to oversee the team. Potter’s first game at the helm saw the Blues draw 1-1 with RB Salzburg in the Champions League earlier this month. And the 47-year-old will be looking for his first win as Chelsea boss when his side travel to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League next Saturday.
