Channing Tatum's strip show Magic Mike Live is given an official premiere date in Australia

‘Can’t wait for our fans to see what we’ve created’: Channing Tatum’s strip show Magic Mike Live is given an official premiere date in Australia

Magic Mike Live is set to titillate Australian audiences in December.

The dance and acrobatic spectacular will premiere on Thursday 17 December at Sydney’s Entertainment Quarter, Moore Park.

Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum, who is the show’s creator and director, gushed: ‘The morning after we opened our first production in Vegas four years ago, we all talked about the crazy idea of someday putting Magic Mike Live in a tent and travelling around Australia.

The 40-year-old continued: ‘The fact that it’s actually happening now is mind-blowing to me.

‘The tent and this new version of the show is more than I ever imagined it could be and I can’t wait for our fans in Australia to see what we’ve created especially for them.’

The male erotic show is the first live production to return to the stage following the COVID-19 pandemic.

While Channing won’t appear in the shows, Magic Mike Live features 20 performers, including 15 ‘of the most talented male dancers in the world’.

During an appearance on Sunrise last year with Magic Mike’s choreographer, Channing confessed he wouldn’t be performing in the show because of his ‘dad bod’.

‘[I’ve got a] dad bod, man! I got a kid now, this is what it is,’ he said, referring to his six-year-old daughter, Everley, whom he shares with ex-wife Jenna Dewan.
