Carol Vorderman was every inch the proud mum on Sunday as she gushed about her son’s university achievements after he endured ‘endless’ bullying.
The 60-year-old presenter took to her Twitter platform to share the good news that Cameron, 24 – who has Special Educational Needs – had received an Animation and Video Effects Master’s degree from the University of Dundee.
In a series of fervent tweets, the Welsh star detailed Cameron’s achievements whilst noting his ‘different’ development curve.

Starting her tribute with some throwback snaps, the former Countdown presenter wrote: ‘A STORY OF CELEBRATION. My son Cameron was a happy toddler. Before and after he started school it became clear that he had SEVERE SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS.
‘No school would accept him. I was going to give up work to teach him but even I couldn’t teach a child with his needs.’
From there, Carol gave her followers an insight into the close relationship they share in a slew of mother-and-son shots, alongside the words: ‘Cam went to a “special school” for 5 yrs where they specialised in teaching children like him.

It was then Carol’s pride was even further reinforced, as she informed her fans that through Cameron’s endless bullying, a changed school and his developmental strategies to learn, he got a first class degree in animation from University of the West of England Bristol, as well as his recent Master’s.
The star, who rose to fame in 1982 when she joined gameshow Countdown, went so far as explaining her son’s ‘different’ development curve in a graph – claiming that the mainstream system ‘doesn’t cater well’ for those children with learning difficulties.

‘I couldn’t be more proud of him and I love him to bits,’ she said. ‘I’m also a very proud mum cos I know just how much he’s struggled to get there.
‘I suppose the message really is that for all those with special educational needs, their curve is different, just sometimes takes a little bit more time, but they can get there in the end.’

And in the sixth and final tweet, the delighted mum shared a mouth-watering snap of Cameron’s celebration cake that had the words ‘the master’ emblazoned at the top.
‘A STORY OF SUCCESS ABOUT A CHILD WHO STRUGGLED FOR YEARS. I’ve learned so much from Cameron. I’ve learned patience and kindness and perseverance and strategies and calm. He’s now THE MASTER.
‘Children with special needs just have a different development curve,’ she penned.
