Caravan owners with tracking tools installed can enjoy reduced premiums and an impressive recovery rate which should encourage drivers to take up the tools. Experts at Trackershop said motorhomes were more vulnerable” than other types of vehicles as they are often left unattended.

This will be placed into the vehicle’s electrics and will be running 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

This means there is no need to change the tracker or make alterations once it is installed.

However, experts warn portable trackers are “becoming a popular option” and can be “concealed anywhere”.

This has the added bonus of concealment meaning it will be pretty much impossible for thieves to find.

Research shows just 13 percent of motorhomes have trackers installed.

Meanwhile, 54 percent of motorhome owners do not have alarms installed in their vehicles.

Demand for caravans is set to surge this year as drivers consider staycation holoidays instead of travelling abroad.
