Jamie Lynn Spears went under a social media lockdown shortly after her older sister Britney Spears’ explosive testimony about her conservatorship.

Jamie Lynn, 30, turned off comments on all of her Instagram posts following the virtual court appearance after social media users began harassing her.

The move comes after the 39-year-old pop superstar said she wanted to ‘sue’ her ‘family,’ though it’s unclear if she includes her younger sister among those she’s upset at.

The actress appeared to have initially only closed off commenting on her most recent post, but it’s now impossible to comment on even her oldest photos.

The newest posts don’t display any comments, though older ones show the original comments, including some vitriol related to her sister’s condition.

Britney’s mother Lynne Spears took the same route after her testimony and turned off her Instagram comments amid a torrent of abuse.

In her impassioned testimony from Wednesday, which was delivered over the phone during a Zoom hearing, the Toxic singer lambasted her family.

She described her doctor allegedly changing her psychiatric medications without her consent after she refused to do another Las Vegas residency.

The musician said she was monitored by nurses around the clock and wasn’t able to leave her home for a month.

‘Not only did my family not do a Goddamned thing my, dad was all for it,’ she said of her father Jamie Spears, who was the target of most of her vitriol.

‘My whole family did nothing,’ Britney reiterated, though it’s unclear if she was primarily referring to her parents or was including Jamie Lynn.

The singer–songwriter added elsewhere that she wanted to ‘sue’ her family over her years-long treatment.

‘They should be in jail. I just want my life back,’ she continued.

So far, Jamie Lynn has stayed silent about Britney’s testimony, and closing off her Instagram comments appear to be the only public action she has taken since then.

Following her daughter’s testimony, an attorney for Lynne Spears spoke up in support of Britney.

‘Today is the day while the world watches while we listen to to Ms. Spears … that we put in place a plan. That is her mother’s request. That we not leave the court without having a plan.’

Jamie Lynn has made few public comments about her sister’s condition in recent years, though she did allude to her mental health struggles last year.

Amid speculation about Kanye West’s mental health, she wrote on Instagram, ‘If you deal with mental illness, then you know how important it is to respect the situation with privacy for the person, and the family trying to protect their loved ones, no matter how it may appear to the public and as the public we must learn to do the same.

‘I pray this doesn’t bring shame to anyone dealing with mental illness, you are not alone and you are loved. Sending all my love and prayers to all of you,’ she wrote.

After an Instagram user mention her ‘sisters OBVIOUS mental illness,’ Jamie Lynn went on the defensive.

‘You have no right to assume anything about my sister, and I have NO right to speak about HER health and personal matters,’ she replied.

During her statement, Britney claimed that she has an IUD implanted which she hasn’t been allowed to remove in order to have another child.

She also said that the cheery image she shows off on her social media accounts was often a fabrication to hide her true feelings.
