    Police have cordoned off roads in Ipswich after the discovery of an unidentified package. The package, found adjacent to a building in Friars Street, has resulted in road closures, with explosive ordinance disposal crews on the way.

    Suffolk Police tweeted: “A 100-metre police cordon and road closures have been put in place after an unidentified package was located next to a building on Friars Street, Ipswich.

    “The Explosive Ordnance Disposal team is attending.

    “Police thank members of the public for their patience and understanding.”

    One Twitter user tweeted a photograph of the cordon, and a large lorry marked Royal Logistics Corps Bomb Disposal.
