The country singer continued, ‘I think [Gwen] knows that it would be a pretty classless wedding if I was in control.’

‘II want her to do all of that stuff and handle it because it’s going to be great,’ he explained. ‘She’s in the middle of planning the thing, and she’s always so mindful … of me.’

Blake told the news outlet that the Hollaback Girl hitmaker was enjoying the wedding planning process. ‘She’s like, “Hey, I don’t want to just take this thing over.” I think she’s having a blast doing it. I mean, I know she’s having a blast doing it.’

Shelton and Stefani got engaged in October 2020 after five years together. The two met in 2014 when Stefani became a judge on The Voice. Blake has been a judge on the NBC show since its inception in 2014.

Blake was married to fellow country singer Miranda Lambert, 37, for four years but the former couple separated in July 2015. Gwen wed Bush singer Gavin Rossdale, 55, in 2002 after seven years of dating. She filed for divorce in August 2015.

At the end of last March, Blake shared some additional details about his nuptials during an appearance on Today. The God’s country singer said they may be tying the knot this summer.

‘I’m afraid if she and I wait until next November, then I’m right back into The Voice cycle again, and I really want to be able to have plenty of time before and after, so hopefully this summer,’ Blake told Hoda Kotb.

‘I think we’re right here at the point with COVID, it looks like it may be OK, but don’t know, so that’s tentatively the plan,’ he said.

Hoda also asked Blake about the many stars who have offered to perform at his wedding, including Miley Cyrus and his former Voice costar Adam Levine.

Blake joked his wedding was beginning to resemble Coachella.

‘It’s starting to sound like a Coachella lineup here all of a sudden,’ he said. ‘I got all these superstars saying they’re gonna do it. I hope so, I don’t know. I’m not saying this because it’s the line. We really don’t know.

‘I’d love to be able to take everybody up on their offer and have this amazing concert wedding, but you know how it is. We’re just waiting every day just like everybody else to see what our summer’s gonna look like and then go from there.’

Hoda also asked Blake if he ever imagined having a slower-paced life in the future with Gwen.

‘Well, I hope that’s not too far down the road,’ Blake replied. ‘Ten years sounds like way too long to me. I’d like to see that sooner than later.

‘We’ve both pretty much taken it to the limit as far as our careers go and touring and now the television thing. It’s been fortunate to accomplish a lot of things, hopefully at some point we’ll get a chance to live some life. And I think we’re both ready for that, honestly.’

Gwen announced her engagement to Blake in October 2020 on Instagram, where she posted a photo of herself flashing her brand new diamond ring whilst kissing her fiance.

‘yes please!’ she captioned the shot, along with a diamond ring and prayer hands emoji.

‘He’s just such a good guy,’ Gwen gushed of her fiance on Today back in January. ‘He’s one of the most generous human beings and down to earth.

‘It all sounds so generic, but it’s just so true. He’s so gifted and so unique and talented and he really is just my best friend,’ she gushed.

The No Doubt singer had nothing but positive thoughts for the future.

‘I feel just so excited that I have someone in my life that now I have a chance at like, happiness, you know what I mean? For a long time to come. It’s just a blessing, the whole thing and it is a miracle.’
