Billie Eilish released her latest album Happier Than Ever this Friday, with a furious breakup song of the same name as the title track.

And the blistering lyrics to Happier Than Ever have led to some online conjecture from fans that she was singing about her ex Brandon ‘Q’ Adams.

On Instagram fans have said, ‘This song is about Brandon’ while another added, ‘This has Adams written all over it.’

An Apple TV+ documentary called Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry dropped earlier this year and pulled the curtain back on the relationship.

Billie can be seen in the film confronting Brandon about his allegedly driving drunk, telling him: ‘I don’t want you to do that.’

The No Time To Die singer added: ‘I feel like you don’t take me seriously when I say that. I just want you safe.’

Meanwhile in one of the verses of Happier Than Ever she sings: ‘You call me again, drunk in your Benz, drivin’ home under the influence. You scared me to death but I’m wastin’ my breath ’cause you only listen to your f***in’ friends.’

In the chorus she declares that ‘When I’m away from you I’m happier than ever. Wish I could explain it better – I wish it wasn’t true.’

During another verse she insists that ‘I don’t talk s*** about you on the internet, never told anyone anything bad, ’cause that s***’s embarrassing – you were my everything and all you did was make me f***in’ sad.’

This March in the wake of her documentary Brandon defended himself from criticism by Billie’s fans and she then publicly asked them to be kind to him.

‘THERES ALWAYS 2 SIDES TO A SITUATION,’ wrote Brandon on his Insta Stories, revealing: ‘PEOPLE FAIL TO REALIZE IVE BEEN DEALING WITH MY BROTHERS DEATH. ESPECIALLY AROUND THAT TIME WHEN IT WAS FRESH.’

'Totally about him': The blistering lyrics to Happier Than Ever have led to some online conjecture including on JustJared that she was singing about'Q'

He added: ‘SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO BE ALONE TO COPE. SOMETIMES PEOPLE DISAGREE AND DONT WANT THE SAMES THINGS AS ONE ANOTHER .’

Billie then wrote on Instagram: ‘Remember to be nice to people no matter what! I love you guys thank you for protecting me but be nice!!’

Brandon was perceived as having been dismissive toward the teen star, who said in the documentary that he neglected to even get her a Valentine’s Day gift.

‘I could talk about every time that you showed up on time, but I’d have an empty line ’cause you never did,’ she sings in Happier Than Ever. ‘Never paid any mind to my mother or friends, so I shut ’em all out for you ’cause I was a kid.’

In a verse she said: ‘I knew when I asked you to be cool about what I was tellin’ you, you’d do the opposite of what you said you’d do and I’d end up afraid. Don’t say it wasn’t fair. You clearly weren’t aware that you made me miserable.’

While explaining their breakup in the documentary she argued that their problems had advanced to the point the relationship was not ‘fair’ to either him or her.

‘I just wasn’t happy. I didn’t want the same things he wanted and I don’t think that’s fair for him,’ explained the Bad Guy hitmaker.

‘I don’t think you should be in a relationship super excited about things that the other person couldn’t care less about,’ she added

‘There was just a lack of effort. I was literally like, Dude, you don’t have enough love to love yourself so you can’t love me, dude. And you don’t. You think you do.’

Despite putting some distance between herself and the romance she revealed: ‘I’m not over him, I didn’t find someone else. I didn’t stop having love for him.’

She said she ‘spent time away from him for a little bit and I was like: “Wow I’m missing so much because I’m worried about you all the time and I don’t want what you want and you don’t want what I want.”‘

Billie, who was tight-lipped about her relationship with Brandon until the documentary, shared: ‘I don’t want to fix him. I can’t fix him. I tried.’
