    Bikini model Natalie Roser shares candid images of herself in hospital as she prepares for scoliosis surgery – after revealing her secret health battle

    Australian bikini model Natalie Roser has revealed she’s in hospital and waiting to undergo an operation to treat her scoliosis. 

    On Wednesday, the 31-year-old shared a series of posts on her Instagram stories of herself in her hospital bed ahead of surgery.

    Natalie also said in a video on Tuesday evening that she was both ‘excited and terrified all at the same time’ to go under.

    One video showed Natalie showing off her compression socks in her hospital gown before going into surgery.

    ‘Harley’s gone to work and now I’m just waiting in my compression socks,’ she said, referring to her actor boyfriend Harley Bonner.

    She shared another post, saying that she was ‘starving’ and hungry, presumably because she had to fast before surgery.

    What is scoliosis? 

    -According to Healthline.com, it is the ‘abnormal curvature of the spine’

    -Signs or symptoms of the condition, which has various forms, include back pain, uneven hips, different shoulder blade levels

    -Treatments include bracing or surgery depending on age or state of the condition

    -Princess Eugenie was diagnosed with scoliosis as a child and at age 12 had surgery on her back

    -She proudly showed off her surgery scar at her wedding in October 2018 

    The night before, Natalie told fans that the operation comes during Spine Health Awareness Week and said she was both ‘excited’ and ‘terrified.’ 

    ‘I am excited and terrified all at the same time and in crazy coincidence it’s National Spine Health Awareness Week,’ Natalie said. 

    She also told fans that she would be sharing her journey on YouTube soon.

    Earlier this month, Natalie revealed her private battle with scoliosis and said she was preparing for spinal fusion surgery.

    ‘It’s getting worse. It’s going to continue to get worse,’ she said during an Instagram Q&A at the time.

    ‘I am constantly in a level of discomfort. There are days when I can’t ignore it.’

    Scoliosis is the sideways curvature of the spine. Natalie said her spine has moved ’60 degrees’ and that makes her a candidate for surgery.

    Doctors will ‘removing her discs’ and replace them with artificial ones and a brace.  

    ‘They are removing my discs, putting in fake ones and drilling a pole to my spine, so I am straight up and down again,’ Natalie explained.

    The operation will see her in hospital for one week and her recovery time is estimated to be about six weeks.

    Natalie said she won’t be able to work, but admitted that ‘winter’ is a much better time to undergo the procedure. 

    She recently relocated back to Sydney with her Neighbours star boyfriend, Harley Bonner.

    In November 2019, she revealed her excitement at having secured her dream job as the face of Guess’ holiday campaign in the United States.
