With his foundation and YouTube channel with 52.8k subscribers, history enthusiast Ryan Mauro is set on a quest to prove with facts that the Exodus really happened. According to the Book of Exodus in the Bible, the prophet Moses leads the Israelites to Mount Sinai which is enveloped by fire, smoke and thunder.
This holy mountain is one of the most sacred places for the Jewish, Christian and Islamic religions as it is where Moses received two stone tablets inscribed with the Ten Commandments from God.
As of now, Mount Sinai is a mountain on the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt and is only possibly the same as the biblical mountain.
But according to Mr Mauro’s research, not only does Mount Sinai as told by the Bible really exists but it is also located in Saudi Arabia rather than Egypt.
As seen in his documentary “Finding the Mountain of Moses: the Real Mount Sinai in Saudi Arabia,” the researcher got access to several historical spots in the Middle-eastern country that coincide with Moses’ story.
“One of the main reasons certain scholars claim that the Exodus is a myth is because little to no evidence for what the Bible records have been found at the traditional Mount Sinai in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula,” he told The Sun.
“But what if these scholars have actually been looking in the wrong spot?
“Move over into the Arabian peninsula and you find incredibly compelling evidence matching the Biblical account.”
Ryan Mauro says the real holy mountain is based in the northwestern province of Saudi Arabia and his theory is backed by several pieces of evidence.

Mr Mauro also claims he found in the same region the towering split rock depicted in the Bible.
“We believe this distinct landmark could be the rock that God commanded Moses to strike which water then gushed forth from, miraculously providing for the Israelite population.”
He also found an ancient altar site that could be the place of the biblical 12 pillars representing the 12 tribes of Israel beside it.
So far nine pillars have been found.
“Close to the mountain, we have this site covered with depictions of people worshipping bulls and cows”, said the YouTube creator.
“And what’s really significant is that these petroglyphs are isolated to this area.
“It’s not like they’re carved all over the mountain.”
This discovery matches the biblical Golden Calf incident, where the Israelites started worshipping an Egyptian god in Moses’ absence.
When he came back, the calf worshippers were killed for their idolatry.
Signs of a graveyard were discovered in the same spot that Mr Mauro claims is the real Mount Sinai.
